  1. The large window in the end wall of the garage used to be a Wheelwrights property. I believe Fred Lang’s (who worked at Wallbutton’s) father worked there.

  2. The lower picture has Charlie Wallbutton stood in the doorway of the shop, his wife Elsie leaning against the window sill and unknown leaning on car

  3. I worked at Wallbutton’s Garage from July 1969 to March 1974 as an apprentice motor mechanic. Charlie Wallbutton’s daughter Nesta gave me the negatives to these pictures which I also have. I asked her if she could put names to the people and I recorded them. The top picture left to right are Stanley Down, Fred Chalkley, unknown in car, Nesta Wallbutton (age abt 4) and a Mr Wall. The phone number 93 changed to 2793, then 782793 which Burnham Motor Company used until it ceased trading on the 31 July 2003
